Approximately 80,000 square feet of space are present in the passenger terminal building, which was constructed in 1996. On the west end of the commercial apron, it is south of Runway 7/25. Iconography of the terminal shows ticket counters, baggage claim areas, offices of the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), and aircraft gates, holdrooms, circulation areas, concession stands, and ground transportation. The terminal is also currently leased by four airlines. There are five major airlines in this group: American, Continental, Delta, United, and United Express
Additional curbside ticket counters can be found at the southeast end of the building, just inside the main entrance of the terminal. There is more air traffic at the airport during the winter months than in the summer, since the airport operates on a seasonal basis, with peak travel occurring during the ski season. American, Delta, Continental, United, and United Express offer non-stop jet service from EGE to ten major U.S. cities. In addition to Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas/Fort Worth, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, Minneapolis, New York, and Newark are other cities on the list. Summertime non-stop flights from EGE to Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) and Denver (DEN) are available on American Airlines and United.
There are two options for collecting outgoing baggage: curbside check-in, located at the southeast end of the commercial terminal, and airline ticket counters inside the terminal. Baggage is brought inside for screening by the TSA after check-in at the curb. B. Any baggage checked within the terminal is immediately screened by TSA baggage screening machines located next to the ticket counters. A conveyor belt carries the luggage that has been screened to the indoor baggage facility where it is picked up by the appropriate airline. The luggage is then loaded onto a tug for transfer to the aircraft. A plan is underway to expand the luggage facility inside the terminal. T-Screening machines will be installed inline with the expansion, and construction is planned for fall 2011.
Located in the commercial terminal, three baggage carousels are available for passengers to claim their bags. Commercial transportation stations and car rental agencies are located near the baggage carousels.
At EGE, there are two areas where you can find airline ticket offices. At the curbside check-in area at the east end of the commercial terminal is one such location. On the northeast side of the building is the second location, which is inside the commercial terminal. Other locations are also available.
In the commercial terminal, EGE is serviced by TSA facilities. The baggage screening area is located inside the main terminal just east of passenger screening near the airline ticket counters as well as behind curbside baggage claim. This happens right across from the main entrance, between the baggage carousels to the west and the ticket counters to the east, in the center of the terminal.
